# Whats the Difference Between Standard Calling & VoIP Calling?

**VoIP calling** uses an internet connection (Wi‑Fi or mobile data) to place and receive calls directly inside the Burner app.

**Standard calling** uses your phone’s regular cellular voice service and routes the call through your Burner number while keeping your personal number private.

## How to turn VoIP on or off

You can control VoIP **per Burner line**. To switch between VoIP and Standard Voice, update the settings for the specific Burner number you want to change.

### iOS:

1. Tap **More** at the bottom of your inbox.
2. Tap **Number Settings**.
3. Choose the **Burner number** you want to update.
4. Scroll down and tap **VoIP In-app Calling**.
5. Select **Standard Voice** to turn VoIP off, or **VoIP** to turn it on.

### Android:

1. Tap **More** at the bottom of your inbox.
2. Choose the **Burner number** you want to update.
3. Scroll down and tap **VoIP In-app Calling**.
4. Select **Standard Voice** to turn VoIP off, or **VoIP** to turn it on.
