# Inbound Calls - Anonymous or Spam Calls

### Why is a restricted, anonymous or spam number calling me?

Although unlikely, sometimes a number slips past our system and it's possible someone else owned the number before you. If you're receiving unwanted calls that you don't know, you can always block them.

**iOS Users:**

- To block a number, you can select the **Block** icon at the very top of the message thread or tap the number of the person who called and tap **Block**.

**Android Users:**

- Press and hold on a contact thread and select **Delete and Block**. Or tap the contact and toggle the **Block contact** to the right.

If you are receiving way too many spam calls, we'll replace the number for you. Just message in-app using the **Help** button or using the chat icon at the bottom right of [this page](https://support.burnerapp.com/), along with your account number or email and the affected Burner number.
