# Calling from Web App or Desktop

### Can I make calls from the web app or desktop?

No, you cannot make or receive calls from your desktop. Burner can only be used in-app through your cell phone. The way Burner works is that we forward calls from your Burner number to your account number, so you can only use Burner on a phone device that has a cellular data connection.

If you signed up using Sign on with Apple/Google feature. Calls are placed over WiFi or your data connection, and can only be placed from within the Burner app on your mobile device.
